What's the difference between GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®?
excerpt from ShareCare from Michael Luque
GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® are two halves of a complete whole. They’re not cousins, they’re fraternal twins! GYROTONIC® is the equipment work based off the movement patterns developed by Juliu Horvath in what is now called GYROKINESIS®. (on a side note, I say “now called” as the class was originally called Yoga for Dancers, then The Essentials of Body Kinetics before finally being officially given the name GYROKINESIS®). GYROKINESIS® is primarily a group class. It can be and is taught as privates as well, just as yoga, while normally taken in a group setting can also be taught in privates. GYROKINESIS® is you, a stool, a mat and that’s it. GYROTONIC® is done on equipment. There are five pieces of GYROTONIC® equipment: the Cobra, the Archway, the Jumping Stretching Unit, the Gyrotoner and the Leg Extension Unit. Each piece guides the body in a different way and uses resistance in a different way. It could be said, on an apparent level, that GYROKINESIS® is more internal than GYROTONIC® as there is nothing guiding you but your own mind and the words of your instructor. However, on a deeper level, both are equally internal. GYROTONIC® also offers more specificity during a workout than GYROKINESIS®, and this comes in very handy when working with clients who have varied goals. Some come to improve their golf game, some come to reduce back knee pain, and some come for flexibility and strength. The varying abilities of each piece of equipment offers greater focus on individual goals. GYROKINESIS® is more fluid and continuous as it is a class. It is designed to be done as a flow, with a purpose in the sequence. While it can be broken down or parted out, that is not the intention of the work. It is designed so that each succeeding sequence builds on what came before. You start on the stools to “warm up” the body, core and spine before taking those motion patterns to the floor, which increases total body involvement. Then if you’re advanced enough, you take those same motions to standing, which adds even more variables, difficulty and intensity to those same motions patterns. As a final answer the question, I’ll paraphrase system founder Juliu Hovath: “You do both for a few years, then you come and tell me the difference.” I’ve always loved that answer.
Thanks for the recommendations you have discussed here. Something important I would like to say is that computer memory needs generally increase along with other advances in the technological know-how. For instance, if new generations of cpus are introduced to the market, there is usually a corresponding increase in the dimensions preferences of both laptop memory and also hard drive space. This is because the application operated simply by these processors will inevitably rise in power to use the new technologies.
I think one of your commercials triggered my internet browser to resize, you might want to put that on your blacklist.
I think other website proprietors should take this site as an model, very clean and magnificent user genial style and design, let alone the content. You are an expert in this topic!
